Funeral Services for Mrs. Wynelle Waldrep, age 85 of Wadley, will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Gilead Community Church with Rev. Mike Hanners and Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Waldrep passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at her home. A lifelong resident of Clay County, Mrs. Waldrep graduated from Mellow Valley High School, and then began working in the cotton mill in Lanett. Afterwards, she began working for the Clegg-Pinrose Corporation in Wadley as a seamstress for close to 30 years. After her retirement, she worked a number of years for Dr. Hensleigh as an office assistant. In her off-time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and any form of Crafting. She also enjoyed reading, writing letters to her family and friends, and loving on her children and grandchildren. She was the best back scratcher according to her family, and was a member of Mt. Gilead Community Church.

Mrs. Waldrep is survived by her daughter, Tina McBride (Milton) of Jemison; her son, Tim Waldrep (Anita) of Wadley; 8 grandchildren: Brian Waldrep (Brooke), Leah Meadows (Mark), Johnathan Waldrep, Jennifer Molina, Tammy Sprayberry (Jimmy), Amber Lovelace (Jacob), and Brittany Davenport (Nathan); two sisters: Dean Hilyer of Wadley, and Joyce Forman (Billy Ray) of New Site; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents: John Burton and Eunice Kellum Caldwell; one son, Ricky Dale Waldrep; one grandson, Aaron Waldrep; 6 sisters: Virginia Melton, Hazel Railey, Betty Ruth Siggers, Barbara McLain, Ruby Estelle Caldwell, and one infant sister; and three brothers: J.B., Crayton Lewell, and Jimmy Caldwell.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Her visitation will take place on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. and from 8:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. She will lie in state one hour at Mt. Gilead Community Church from 1:00 P.M. and until service time at 2:00 P.M.
