Winnie Ruth Wallace, of Decatur, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at the age of 79. Her visitation will be today, Feb. 22, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Brother Doug Moody and John Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Iula Sams; five brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Burl Wallace; two sons, Steve (Wanda) Wallace and Jesse (Monica) Wallace; grandson, Blake Abernathy; brother, Wendell Sams; and sisters, Nettie Johnson, Annie McCoy, Frances Richey, and Janie Bates. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wallace enjoyed fishing, quilting, her flowers, and gardening. She was a member of Caddo Congregational Christian Church.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Roselawn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
