Wilson Columbus “Sam” Walker, age 60 of Belvidere, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Highpoint Health Medical Center. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester on March 6, 1966. Sam spent his professional career working as a welder in industrial manufacturing at American Seating. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as tinkering with things. His sense of humor kept those around him laughing; he truly should have been a comedian. He had a kind, generous nature, and loved his family with all of his heart. Sam was preceded in death by his father, George Walker; brother, Timothy George Walker; grandparents, Woodrow Wilson, Walker Lena Hill, Alva Jolley, and Vada Estelle Jolley. He is survived by his mother, Linda (Jolley) Walker; daughter, Amanda (Gage) Seals; step-daughter, Nicole Wilkerson; brother, Christopher (Carrie) Walker; grandson, Cyrus Seals; step-granddaughters, Gracie Wilder and L’Shae Wilkerson; nieces and nephews, Christopher Walker, Ashley (Aaron) White, Catherine Stanley, and James Walker; and ten great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 27, 2026, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lexie Crossroads Cemetery.
