Mrs. Wilma Mae Canterbury, age 86, of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at her residence.
Mrs. Canterbury was born September 3, 1937, in Mount Pleasant, MI, to the late William P. and Sedina Dickerson. She was a seamstress at McCoy Manufacturing, and was married to the late Robert Lorenze “Sam” Canterbury. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Canterbury, and her brother, Roger Dickerson.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 22, at 3:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Bro. James Godsey officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 prior to the service.
Pallbearers will Michael Gann, Wesley Gann, Shawn Canterbury, Justin Jones, Ken Hill, and Art Frazier.
Survivors include one son, Robert (Vickie) Canterbury; three daughters, Elizabeth (Donny) Gustavsen, Brenda Barnes, and Linda Canterbury; 11 grandchildren, Michael Gann, Angela Jones, Wesley Gann, Cindy Merchant, Amy Walker, Paige Canterbury, Brittany Frazier, Shawn Locke, Amber Tate, Courtney Duckworth, and Haley Hicks; 26 great-grandchildren, Harleigh Kelly, Haigen Gann, Kristin Gann, Bridgett Jones, Gracie Jones, Winter Gann, Isabella Hill, Kynlee Hill, Prestin Walker, Memphis Walker, Braylyn Walker, McKalyn Merchant, Kinsley Conrad, Erin Conrad, Evan Conrad, Kaiden Locke, Braiden Locke, Ella Locke, Callie Locke, Colton Locke, Kristopher Stockman, Kaylee Gould, Kameron Gould, Tobias Duckworth, Amelia Duckworth, and Octavia Hicks; and three great-great-grandchildren, Haysten Armstrong, Elijah McClusky, and Noah McClusky.
