Funeral service for Dortha M. Shadix, 86, will be Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dennis Shadix officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Powell’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shadix died on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Hanceville Health and Rehab. She was born September 26, 1938, in Morgan County to Walter Jasper Powell and Daisy Thomas Powell. She was a Business Owner of Shadix Grocery and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband: Hinds Leon Shadix, her parents, four brothers and eight sisters.
Survivors include; a Son – Dennis Shadix (Kim), a Daughter – JoAnn McGuire (Randy), Three Grandchildren- Dusty Shadix (April), Heather Murphey (Trever) and Blane McGuire (Lyndsay), and Great Grandchildren – Lexi, Liberty and Lakin Shadix, Evan and Koltan Franks, Kyndall Murphey, Blake, Zeke, Heidi McGuire and Kole Davis.
Pallbearers will be Mark Powell, Dusty Shadix, Trever Murphey, Blane McGuire, Koltan Franks and Evan Franks.
