Wilma Ellis Smith – Obituary

Wilma Ellis Smith, 91, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, December 17, 2018,  A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Harold Thompson and Bro. Tom Watson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.  Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery at Speake.  Visitation will be Friday, December 21, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

She was born February 1, 1927, in Morgan County to Ruffy Haywood Ellis and Lillie Mae (Betterton) Ellis.

Wilma was a longtime member of Shady Grove Baptist Church where she served as church treasurer for years. She was also a member of Daystar Church in Hartselle.  She retired from Prestolite after 21 years of service and then 13 years at Walmart.

Wilma is a 1945 graduate of Morgan County High School. Preceding her in death was her husband; Clyde C. Smith and her parents.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses of ICU and CICU at Decatur General, Meals on Whells, Alacare Hospice and Southern Care Hospice. Special Thanks to Kevin Loney, a special neighbor.

Donnie Lowery (Carmen) and
Julie Arroyo

Three Great Grandchildren:
Brent Smith,
Hannah Smith and
Conley Arroyo

Great Great Grandson:
Taylum Guthrie

Two Brothers:
John Huie Ellis (Mary Ann) and
Charles Ellis (Mattie)

Three Nieces

Pallbearers will be Trey Morris, Brent Smith, Bill Naucke, Donnie Lowery, Louis Bradford and Billy Morris.
