William R. Doss Profile Photo William R. Doss, age 66, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024, at his residence in Jackson, Tennessee, surrounded by his loving family.

William “Billy” was born on February 20, 1958, in Memphis, Tennessee, William was a dedicated man known for both his professional endeavors and his deep love for his family.

He was a 1976 graduate of Humboldt High School. After graduation, he proudly served his country serving four years in the United States Air Force as a Vehicle Maintenance & Security Specialist, then served for an additional four years in the Tennessee Air National Guard during Operation Desert Shield/Storm as a Motor Transport Operator. Additionally, he participated in a humanitarian mission with the Lutheran relief service for Hurricane Katrina in Mississippi. Following his humanitarian work, he completed his associate’s degree in computer networking from ITT Technical Institute in 2006

William held an associate’s degree in computer science, highlighting his commitment to education and lifelong learning. His interests extended well beyond academics; he was an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hiking, camping, kayaking, and fishing. William also had a passion for tinkering with cars, a hobby that he found both fulfilling and enjoyable.

A devoted fan of college football, he cherished the University of Tennessee Volunteers, often sharing his enthusiasm for the team with those around him. His deep love for the outdoors and his favorite sports created a joyful legacy that he shared with his family.

William’s proudest accomplishments, however, were his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Sabrinia Doss Vallejos and husband, Ting of Silver Spring, MD, his son, William “Billy” Robert Doss of Martin, TN, and his sister, Susan Doss Cox of Jackson, TN. William was also a cherished “Paw-Paw” to his grandchildren, Hannah Gafner, Kai Vallejos, and Koa Vallejos and his devoted canine companion Sophie, a fourteen year old rescue, as well as many other friends and neighbors who mourn his passing. His love for his family shone brightly throughout his life, and he took immense pride in being a supportive father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Jennie Prichard Doss.

SERVICES: A memorial gathering in honor of William R. Doss will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, beginning at 9:00 a.m., continuing until 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service starting at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Arrington Funeral directors with Rev. Garry Miller officiating.

The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society, online at www.donate.cancer.org. or mailed to PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

William R. Doss will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his remarkable spirit, and his contributions to the lives of those he loved. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
