William Michael "Mike" Walker Profile PhotoWilliam Michael “Mike” Walker, 71, of Lewisburg, departed this life on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 while surrounded by his family.  He was born on November 1, 1951, in Maury County, TN to Will C and Willie Pearl Holbert Walker.  Mike was enlisted in the National Guard for 13 years.  He attended Columbia State for 2 years and graduated from Athens State with a bachelors degree in psychology and sociology with a minor in business. He worked as a lead technician in the metal department at Sanford until they closed the business in Lewisburg.  He was a Christian and a member of Life Song Family Church.  He loved his family and enjoyed outings with them.  He coached the softball team for daughter’s team when she was young. In more current years, he enjoyed playing outside with his great grandchildren.  He loved to play pool and entered tournaments.  He won many prizes and trophies over the years from these tournaments. He more recently spent his time playing World of Warcraft.

Visitation will be Friday, June 30, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the chapel of Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home with a Memorial Service following at 5:00 PM.

Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Geneva Canada; special aunt and uncle, James & Florene Matney; brother-in-law, Henry Rhiner; and special family member, Ike Johnson.  He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Miller Walker of Lewisburg; his daughters, Michelle Black of Lewisburg and Jennifer Walker of Kelso; brother, Joe Walker (Arlene); sister-in-laws, Joan Rhiner of Lewisburg and Liane (Ricardo) Scarfone or Lewisburg; grandchildren, Bryonna Black and Brandon Black of Lewisburg; four great grandchildren; cousins, Benita Villines (Hal) of Spring Hill and Karen Johnson of Lewisburg; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
