William George Miller, aged 92, a beloved resident of Columbia, peacefully passed away on November 29, 2023.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00AM at Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on December 15, 1930, in Saginaw, Michigan, William was the son of the late William John Miller and Clara Goschke Miller. William, a proud veteran, served his country with honor in the Army during the Korean War. He lived his life in accordance with his Lutheran faith, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
William dedicated much of his career to logistics, working in a fabricating shop. Outside of his professional life, he found joy in a variety of interests. An avid outdoorsman, William loved fishing and hunting. His musical talents shone through as he played the saxophone in a band. He appreciated jazz music and took pleasure in watching game shows. William’s weekends were often spent immersed in the excitement of college and NFL games, supporting his favorite team, the Detroit Lions.
He is survived by his loving children, William Kent Miller (Veronica Beeson) of Spring Hill and Pamela Tomszewski (Daniel) of Columbia. William will be fondly remembered by his nieces, Sandy Williams and Cheryl Winters, nephews, Carl Miller and Gary Culberson, as well as his grandchildren, Christopher D. Tomaszewski (Tiffany), Daniel John Tomaszewski (Amy), John W. Tomaszewski (Melinda), William J. Miller (Jolyn), and great-grandchildren, Paul Tomazewski, Lina Tomaszewski, Joseph Tomaszewski, Cassie Tomaszewski, Wesley Tomaszewski, Will Tomazewski, Kadin Miller, Damion Miller, Xander Miller, Landon Miller, Willow Miller, and Ally Miller.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Miller, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage, and his brother, Carl Miller.
