William E. “Billy” Pilkilton, 78, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 27, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Morrison Funeral
Home in Tuscumbia. A private graveside service for the family will follow at Barton Cemetery,
with Roger Bond officiating.
Billy was a native and lifelong resident of Colbert County and a member of Hook Street Baptist
Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Beatrice (McElyea) Pilkilton; his brother,
Donald Pilkilton; and his sisters, Helen, Ida, Estelle, Lena, Dorothy, and Barbara.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Helen Cole Pilkilton; his two sons, Danny
Pilkilton (Anna) and Denzil Pilkilton (Adrian); his brothers, Marty Pilkilton (Lula), David
Pilkilton (Sue), and Jimmy Pilkilton (Anita); and his sister, Wanda Pilkilton Sprague. He is also
survived by his grandchildren, Blair Pilkilton, Reagan Pilkilton, and Kenley Pilkilton, children of
Denzil and Adrian, and Adam Martin (Tara), Anthony Harbison (Jocie), and Andrew Harbison
(Rebecca), children of Danny and Anna. His great-grandchildren include Zayden, Hendrix, and
Kaislyn, and Ezra, Leif, Sophie, Jaycee, and Kayson. He is further survived by his lifelong best
friend, Clyde Sizemore.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Zayden, Hendrix, Ezra,
Leif, Kayson, and Ridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hook Street Baptist Church
Children’s Church.
