William Charles Gibson – Obituary

William Charles Gibson, 92, of New Market, passed away Wednesday at a local hospital. Bill was a native of Crisp County, GA and a resident of Madison County for over 10 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II and was a retired Firefighter for the City of Miami, FL, having attained the rank of Capitan. An avid golfer and fisherman, Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an active member of GracePointe Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years: Ocey Marie Gibson; one daughter: Gail Tansy and husband: John Edward; one son: Charles Bruce Gibson and wife: Elizabeth; one sister: Grace Roberts; one grandson: Brian Edward Tansy; three great-grandchildren: Morgan Tansy, Peyton Tansy and Corinne Tansy and two step-great-grandchildren: Taylor Waring and Austin Waring.

Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at GracePointe Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Bobby Gordon and Rev. Jimmy Brantley officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Gardens. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorial donations may be made to GracePointe Baptist Church.
