Curran Earl Barbrey – Obituary

barbFuneral for Curran Earl Barbrey , 88, of Hartselle will be Sunday August 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lucky Teague and Brother Richard Richie officiating with burial in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Barbrey was born September 25, 1925 in South Carolina to James Bruce Barbrey and Jessie Mae Garrett Barbrey. He passed away Thursday August 21, 2014 at his residence. He was a member of Flint Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II where he served in the Army, a member of the Simpsonville Masonic Lodge #311 in Simpsonville, South Carolina, a member of the Shriners and a member of the VFW in Decatur. He retired from Flour-Daniels after 40 years as a construction superintendent.
He was preceded in death by his parents; James Bruce Barbrey and Jessie Mae Garrett Barbrey, one brother; C.W. (Ham) Barbrey, and one sister; Elizabeth (Snooks) Pridmore. He is survived by his wife; Lois Eleanor Lancaster Barbrey of Hartselle, two sons; Keith Barbrey (Susan Riggs Barbrey) of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Randy Barbrey (Brenda DeVaney Barbrey) of Decatur, two daughters; Gail Barbrey Faught (David Faught) of Birmingham, and Lyn Barbrey Letson-Holliday (Boyd Holliday) of Hartselle, one brother; Floyd Barbrey of Simpsonville, South Carolina, ten grandchildren; Kelli Ketchum, Tori Rogers, Leslie Smith, Kevin Barbrey, Wes Letson, Chase Barbrey, Lindsey Kirby, Jessica Hargett, Zach Letson, Jordan Barbrey, and twelve great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Barbrey, Wes Letson, Chase Barbrey, Zach Letson, David Faught and Boyd Holliday.
