William C. Dunlap, Sr., 93, of Huntsville, passed away Tuesday. Born in Birmingham, Bill was the son of F. Earl Dunlap. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired to U.S. Army Civil Service. He served as volunteer music director and other capacities in the beginnings of each of the Southeast Huntsville Baptist churches since the early 1950s. Most recently, he was a member of Farley Community Church.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Dorothy Dunlap; daughter, Joan Pelkey (Rob); sons, Robert Earl, William C. Jr. (Sonya), and Barry James (Sandy); ten grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 26th at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Revs. Mike Hulsey and David Blakeney officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham
