Funeral service for William Brown “Buster” Hagood will be today, May 30, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with John T. Brock, Jim Trousdale and Jeffrey Ingram officiating. Visitation is from noon until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mr. Hagood, who passed away Friday, May 27, 2016,at ECM in Florence, was born Aug. 17, 1922 to Monroe F. Hagood and Hattie White Hagood. He served with the Lawrence County Board of Education as Administrator of the Technical School. He was a member of Highland Baptist/Broadway Fellowship Church and a member of the VFW, Lions Club and the American Legion Post 25. He also served in the Navy during World War II aboard the destroyer USS Aulick. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Nell Hollimon Hagood and Ruth Simpson Hagood; two brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Miles Hagood, Florence; her daughter, Rhonda Miles Ingram and Doug, Tennessee; her grandsons, Joel Ingram and Jeffrey Ingram and Caitly; great-grandson, Simeon Ingram; nephews, Gene Ray McCollum and Jayne and Thomas Hagood and Linda; nieces, Virginia Beckworth and Linda Nell Burlbaugh and Bob; six great-nieces and nephews; his stepsons, Jim Simpson and Jennifer, David Simpson and Kathy, Don Simpson and Jan; stepdaughter, Cathy Simpson; numerous step-grandchildren and Hazle Vandiver, a special cousin.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Hagood, Chase Hagood, Jacob Simpson, Ben Simpson, Daniel Herrin, Phil Flannigan, and Lynn Griffin.
