William Kyle McDonald William (Bill) Kyle McDonald was born on January 08, 1938 in St. Helens, Oregon. He graduated from South Salem High School in 1956 and then Stanford University, California, in 1960. He worked as a research metallurgist for Teledyne Technologies in Albany, Oregon until his job transferred him to Huntsville, Alabama in 1984. During this time, the Supercollider was being built in Texas where much of his work involved Superconductivity Technology.

Close survivors are his wife, Myrna McDonald; and son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Dana McDonald of Roswell, New Mexico. Bill and Myrna lived in Madison and currently, Athens, Alabama.

He loved animals and owned a farm in Wagoner, OK, where he spent much of his time after he retired.

In 2006 he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and recently with heart complications. He passed on April 16, 2024. Memorial for close relatives and friends will be scheduled at a later date.
