Shirley Faye Whitehead Guyton, age 89, of Vernon, AL, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 1:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Sizemore Memorial Cemetery. Bro. Philip Blaylock to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 12:00pm until 1:00pm.
Shirley was born on March 12, 1935 in Lamar County, Alabama to the late Walter Jackson Whitehead and the late Pearlie Mae Glover Whitehead. She attended Lamar County High School. Shirley previously worked for Glenn Enterprises and Generations of Vernon. She loved to be outdoors, especially going fishing. Shirley was a loving mother who cherished her boys. Her tender and loving spirit will always be remembered and greatly missed. Shirley was a member of People’s Tabernacle Church.
