William "Bill" Jackson Carlisle  William “Bill” Jackson Carlisle Sr., age 89, of Tharptown, passed away on Wednesday, April 01, 2026, at his residence.

To know Bill was to know someone who loved deeply and lived fully. He was a devout Christian, a devoted church member of Tharptown Baptist Church, and a Sunday School teacher of the Men’s Senior Sunday School class. He was a dedicated member of the Tharptown Cemetery committee and devoted a lot of time to the history of the community of Tharptown. For years Bill worked at Robbins Tires & Rubber and was also a jack of all trades. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and trap shooter. He never met a stranger, loved to talk, and could tell some wonderful stories. More than anything he was a devoted husband and father who loved his family very much. They will treasure the many memories that he leaves behind.

Bill leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 35 years, Racine Heaps Carlisle; children, Jolene Arnold (Ron Young), Jerry Carlisle; grandchildren, Amy Rebecca Arnold, Jacob Ryan Arnold, April Dawn Moore (Robert), Joshua Cory Carlisle Robbins (Blaine), Alicia Nicole Carlisle Horne; great-grandchildren, Molly Rebecca Mince Lopez (Benny), Karson Olivia NaCoal Moore, Rayce Daughtry Moore, Laura Ashlee Horne, Sophie Brooke Williamson; great-great-grandchildren, Adley Joy Lopez, Bennett Beau Lopez; sister, Elizabeth Waldrep; several nieces & nephews; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his children, William “Bill” Carlisle Jr., Jacqueline Carlisle; infant daughter; great-grandchildren, Ashton Marie and Jaxon Reid Arnold; parents, Jack and Mildred (Scott) Carlisle, and sister, Emma Ann Carlisle McCarty.

The visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 04, 2026, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Chip Martin officiating the service. The burial will be at Tharptown Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Ron Young, Jacob Arnold, Josh Carlisle Robbins, Ben Fisher, Tommy McCarty, Jesse McCarty, Tim Vincent, and Jerry Lynn Carlisle. The honorary pallbearers will be Greg McCarty, John Tarascou, Robert Moore, and the Tharptown Baptist Senior Sunday School class.
