William “Bill” Alvin George, age 88 of Athens, Alabama passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mr. George was born on February 29, 1928 in Limestone County to Arthur and Dale George.
Mr. George was preceded in death by his parents; wife Edith Eaton George; infant brother Leonard George and sister Marie Calvert.
He is survived by three daughters, Deb Holt, Pam George McReynolds (Tim), and Nancy “Nan” George Swanner (Jimmy); seven grandsons, two grand-daughters, nine great-grandchildren with one on the way; two brothers, Gilbert George and Jerry George and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mr. George will be Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 1:00PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Jimmy Swanner and Daniel Metcalfe officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:45. Burial will take place in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Jay Paustian, Brad Adams, Jay Swanner, Rich Best, Jon Swanner, Don Holt, Brian Holt, and Jason Holt.
