William Archie “Big A”Hardin – Obituary

William Archie “Big A”Hardin, 75, died Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Red Bay Hospital. He was born December 4, 1943 in the Old Burleson Community in Franklin County, AL. He was a steel worker for U.S. Reduction for eighteen years and then retired as a truck driver. He was a member of Old Burleson Baptist Church, Old Burleson Masonic Lodge and Cahaba Temple Shriners.

Services will be Sunday, March 31, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with James Overton officiating. Burial will be in Old Burleson Cemetery, Vina, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by two daughters –  Cynthia Gober (Larry Creekmore) Red Bay, AL and Loretta Hovater (Tracy) Tuscumbia, AL; three grandchildren – Adara Cromeans (Kevin) Muscle Shoals, AL, Lakota Hovater and Brady Hovater, both of Tuscumbia, AL; three sisters – Marie Upton, Bob Ann Fowler and Polly Loden, all of Vina, AL and a brother-in-law – Bobby Robinson of Vina, AL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marvalene Lewey Hardin, his parents, Stirl and Topsy Gober Hardin, a sister, Carolyn Robinson and brother-in-law, Arvie Upton.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Upton, Steven Scott, Steven Webb, Kevin Cromeans, T.J. Fowler, Brian Davis and Darrin Lewey. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Fowler, Jim Jackson and Russell Davis.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 30, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Red Bay Hospital Nursing Staff and Dr. Kristy Crandell.
