Donald “Bear” Patton, of Cherokee, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the age of 64. His visitation will be Sunday, March 31 at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with John Bray officiating. Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery.
Bear was a native of Cherokee, Alabama and a retired, self-employed logger. He loved motorcycles and enjoyed life to the fullest. Bear attended the Cowboy Church of Colbert County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.E. and Betty Ruth Patton.
Bear is survived by his son, Michael Patton (Amy Jo); his daughter, Melissa Swader (Bradley); brother, Roger Patton; sisters, Peggy Fuller and Judy Baskins(John), grandchildren, Dylon Patton and Cloey Swader; great-grandchild, Neeko Patton.
Pallbearers will be Lane Crowell, Tyler Crowell, Joel Cole, John Baskins Jr., Jonathan Baskins, Shannon Harrell, and Brent Harrell.
