William "Billy" Allen HudsonWilliam A. (Billy) Hudson went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 11, 2024. He was 86 years old. He was able to spend his final days at home, which he loved, in Hulaco, Alabama. He was born on February 19, 1938 in Douglasville, Ga. to Elmer and Erma Hudson. He moved to the Hulaco community in 1975 and called it home the rest of his life. He was married to Mary Sue Hudson for 58 years at the time of her passing in October 2017. He worked many jobs over his lifetime including aircraft repairman, carpenter, industrial maintenance, and his great love was his farm. He loved being outside and spent the most part of his time outside until his health wouldn’t let him anymore. He struggled with health issues such as back problems and heart issues but remained strong through it all. He loved the Lord and was a member of Ryan Baptist Church.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law: Greg Hudson and Cara, Terry Hudson and Jana, and daughter in law Manillia Hudson Moore; Grandchildren, Andrew Hudson and Chandra, Hannah Hudson Cobbs and Matt, Matthew Hudson, Wil Hudson, Jordan Hudson and Ally, Caleb Hudson and Katie, Holli Pope and Dylan, and Candice Griner and Jacob, and many dearly loved great grandchildren, Brother, Roger Hudson and Donna.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Sue Hudson, son, Michael (Mikey) Hudson, parents, Elmer and Erma Hudson, and brother, Jimmy Hudson.
Services for Billy include a time for both, a visitation and a funeral service. The visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Ryan Baptist Church, he will lie-in-state from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Brother Terry Hudson and Brother Michael King will be officiating. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery. Pallbearers escorting Billy to his final resting place will be Wil Hudson, Jordan Hudson, Caleb Hudson, Andrew Hudson, Matt Cobbs, and Ricky Carter.
