Willa-Oliverra-1429202141Willa Myra Oliverra passed away on April 11, 2015 in Redondo Beach, California. Formally of Pulaski she was born on September 17, 1922 and was 92 years old. She graduated from Giles County High School where she was a cheerleader. During WWII she went to Washington DC and worked in the British Air Office organizing convoy support to England. After the war she moved to Los Angeles and attended El Camio College studying in business. Later she had a career with the Palos Verdes school district as administrator. Willa and Oren loved camping and traveling the world well into her 90’s.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 18th from 11:00am until 1:00pm with service to follow at 1:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Burial will take place in Maplewood Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Rackley Young, brothers, Hugh Denton Young and Russell Moore Young, sisters, Ercell Mae Heurtado, Lillian Sisk, Ellen Croslin and Vina McCord.
She is survived by her,
Partner of 60 years, Oren Sinko of California and his sister, Marie (Lee) McCracken of California
Sister-in-law, Geraldine Young of CO
Niece, Mary (Joe) Morrison of Nashville
Niece, Jerri Sisk (Morris) Howard of Pulaski
Niece, Brenda Kimbrough
Niece, Karen Young and husband Dr. Richard Schoenfeldt of New York
Nephew, Greg Young and wife, Mary Marlino of CO
Nephew, Eddie (Claudette) Sisk of Nashville
Nephew, Tim Young of Nashville
