Wildflower Walk at the Natchez Trace Parkway

3 purpleTUPELO-Join a Park Ranger for a Wildflower Walk on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 9:00 am at the Chickasaw Village Site (milepost 261.8 on the Natchez Trace Parkway near Tupelo, Mississippi).  This one hour program will take participants on a half-mile walk through one of the remaining remnants of Mississippi’s Blackland Prairie, and explore the value of prairie flowers for both their beauty and utility.
There is no shade on the prairie. Visitors are encouraged to bring a hat, sunscreen, water, and insect repellent. Comfortable, close-toed shoes are also recommended.
