Wendell Gene Parris, aged 72, of Jacksonville, passed away at his son’s residence on June 8th. Mr. Parris was predeceased by his father, James V. Parris, his mother, Ruth Hulsey Parris, and brother, Jim Parris.
Wendell Gene Parris, aged 72, of Jacksonville, passed away at his son’s residence on June 8th. Mr. Parris was predeceased by his father, James V. Parris, his mother, Ruth Hulsey Parris, and brother, Jim Parris.
He is survived by his son, Shannon (Stacy) Parris; his five grandchildren, McKinley (Kassidy) Parris, Gabby (Mak) Curry, Pelham Parris, Ridge (Gracie) Fagan, and Pressley Parris; his two sisters, Sue (Arnold) Johnson and Charlotte Johnson; his sister-in-law Rita Parris; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Parris retired from the Calhoun County Road Department and was an avid slow pitch softball player throughout his life. He had a great passion for sports and cherished watching his grandchildren play whenever possible.
Memorial services for Wendell Parris will be held on Tuesday, June 10th. The family will receive friends and relatives at 5:00 pm at the Jacksonville Church of God with Brother David Daniels officiating.
