Wendell “Buckshot” Brannon, age 84, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Friday, August 15, 2025, at his residence peacefully surrounded by his family. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, a retired brick mason, and a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Buckshot loved to laugh and tell jokes. He was known for always being kind to everyone he met and making people happy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, I.E. and Irene Orton Brannon; five siblings; and one daughter, Melanie DeLene Brannon.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wanda Jaco Brannon of Lawrenceburg,TN; one son, Wendell G. “Boo” Brannon, Jr. (Tammy) of Mt. Pleasant, TN; one daughter, Melissa Niedergeses of Ethridge,TN; six grandchildren, Anthony Brannon of Lawrenceburg, TN, Trae Brannon III of Manchester, TN, McKenzie Brannon of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Raymond Jaco Justice of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Charles Niedergeses of Ethridge, TN, and P.J. Niedergeses of Ethridge, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Mars Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at Mars Hill Baptist Church at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 19, 2025, with Mickey Brackin, Jeff Overton, and Steve Seaton officiating. Interment will follow at Bumpas Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.
