Welton Loyd Welborn, 83, of Phil Campbell, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014, at Helen Keller Hospital.
Mr. Welborn lived most of his life in Franklin County and was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He was a self-employed bookkeeper and tax consultant.
The funeral service will be Friday, December 26, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, Phil Campbell, with burial in adjoining cemetery. Officiating will be Bobby Poss and Joe Holmes. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 12:00 noon until service time.
Survivors include wife, Margaret Swinney Welborn; children, Judith Welborn, David Welborn (Kathy), Carl Welborn (Pam) and Larry Welborn (Kathleen); brother, Eugene Welborn; grandchildren, Denise Birdyshaw (Joseph), Chase Welborn (Katie), Angela Kratz (B.J.), Karen McGee (Randy), Matthew Welborn (Amanda), Bailey Welborn; Claire Welborn; great-grandchildren, Savanna Birdyshaw, Colton Welborn, McKenzie Kratz, Dylan McGee; Rylee Kate Welborn; a host of loving and supportive brothers-and sisters-in law; nephews and nieces; friends and business associates.
He was preceded in death by parents, Sanford and Icie Pounders Welborn; and daughter, Linda Marie Welborn.
Pallbearers will be nephews; and honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Liberty Hill Southside Cemetery Fund.
