Wayne Raddie Thompson – Obituary

5806b02f26f56-imageWayne Raddie Thompson, age 86, formerly of Sheffield, passed away Oct. 17, 2016. Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Charles Maples officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Thompson was retired from Reynolds Alloys. He was an avid baker and was known for his delicious cakes.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jamie Murphy, and his sisters, Evelyn Cantrell and Belle Kent.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Flora Thompson; children, Tricia Gray (Harold) and David Thompson (Cathy); grandchildren, Kevin Thompson (Lorri), April Marsh (Austin), Kimberly Smith (Jeff), and Justin Murphy (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Valerie Bragwell, Alli Thompson, Austin Elliott, Anna Thompson, Ty Marsh, Maggie Jae Marsh, and Will and Walker Murphy; niece, Kelly Brown; and nephew, Rodric Kent.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Thompson, Justin Murphy, Austin Marsh, Jeff Smith, Shaun Brown, and Todd Gray.

The family would like to express their appreciation to caregivers Dee and Ann and to Hospice of North Alabama for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
