Wayne Nix, age 79, of Tanner, Alabama, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Wayne was born on November 27, 1946, in Lawrence County, Alabama, to the late Homer and Myrtle Warren Nix. He was a devoted member of Moulton Heights Baptist Church and a proud supporter of Alabama football—always cheering “Roll Tide.” Wayne cherished time spent with his family, especially at the lake house and while hiking in the woods.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army and went on to retire from Regions Bank after more than 20 years of dedicated service.
Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Adam Nix, and his parents, Homer and Myrtle Nix.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angela Nix; daughter, Emily (Brandon) Douglas; daughter-in-law, Meagan Nix; grandchildren, Alexis Casteele, Skyler Nix, and Chloe Nix; brothers, McGlennis Nix and Randall Nix; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Midway Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Marcus Lipscomb officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ian Guillet, Romain Guillet, Don Henderson, Scott Nix, McGlennis Nix, and Brandon Douglas.
