Vernon R. Smith, age 74, of Trinity, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born on May 19, 1951, in Broward County, Florida, to Roy Smith and Vetra Wilkins Smith.
Vernon had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises. He was a man of faith who loved the Lord. Known for his playful spirit, Vernon brought joy to those around him and had a special appreciation for the ladies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Vetra Smith, as well as his two sisters, Doris Parker and Wanda Yarbrough.
Vernon is survived by his son, Aaron (Ashley) Smith; daughter, Regena (Levi) Dickerson; grandchildren, Jon Page, Savannah Dickerson, Kadon Smith, and Brooklon (Chad) Bowen; and a great-granddaughter on the way, Noella Faith Bowen. He is also survived by his brother, Tim (Donna) Smith, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
