Wanda Wise Lang Wanda Wise Lang was born on August 29, 1935, in Decatur, Alabama to Wil Wise and Corinne Elam Wise. She passed away on November 23, 2025 at the age of 90 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Corinne Elam Wise; her brother, William M. “Mac” Wise; her cherished husband of 65 years and the love of her life, Bobby Lang; and a daughter Melissa Ann Lang “Missy”, all of Decatur, Alabama.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Carol Lang, of Decatur; two grandsons, Winston Lang Clements of the Birmingham area and Jorge Will Clements of Nashville; a cherished nephew, Chad Wise of Athens; and host of nieces and nephews.
Wanda attended Decatur High School and the University of Montevallo School for Women. She returned to Decatur to work in the bookkeeping department of the old Morgan County bank. After her marriage, she became the perfect wife and then mother caring for her family with great relish. This was her calling and she excelled at what she did.
She was a Proverbs 31 wife, mother, grandmother, and a true friend to all.
She watches over the activities of her household and is never idle.
Her family rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her..
Many women are capable, but you surpass them all.

She was the family historian, matriarch, and prayer warrior. She always took great pride in nurturing those entrusted into her care. Her grandsons were her life and gave her more enjoyment than she ever imagines possible.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur. She loved her Sunday School Class, the Encourager Class. They were a source of encouragement to her just as she was to them.
A Funeral service will be held Sunday, November 30, 2025 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service at the Church. Burial will follow at Decatur City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Josh Anders, Roger Anders, Brad King, Steven Wise, Matt Wise, and Chase Wise.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Sisk, Ed Hidgon, Wayman Cheatham, Bobby Bowen, Michael Cheatham, and Bob Campbell.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family request donations be made to the Tennessee Valley Outreach Rescue Mission, Gideon’s International, or Hospice of the Valley.
Shelton Funeral Home had the Honor of assisting the family.
