Wanda “Susie” Doss King, 74, Russellville, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Visitation will be Monday, January 13, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ted Vafeas officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville.
Susie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the winner of Catherine Coleman Award, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s in nursing from the University of Alabama, Huntsville. She later received a master’s degree from the University of Florida. Susie was preceded in death by her parents, A.K. Doss and Ella Jean Lamar Doss; and brother, Charles Rogers Doss.
Susie is survived by her husband, Joseph Wayne King; daughters, Jennifer Sharpton Prince (John) and Emily Sharpton Robinson (Corey); brother Kenneth Doss (Wanda); sister, Paula Doss Morgan (Mike); dear granddaughters, Abigail Grace Robinson and Anna Kori Robinson; step-children, Carissa Bently and Christopher King; and many beloved step-grandchildren and step-greatgrandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Prince, Corey Robinson, Zack Morgan, Ben Morgan, Andrew Doss, and Parker Morgan.
