Wanda L. Landers – Obituary

wandaWanda L. Landers, 54, of Muscle Shoals, went home to be with her heavenly Father on January 14, 2016 at 10:49 p.m. She fought a lengthy battle with illness before being called to a better place. Wanda was a lifetime member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. She most recently attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir. She graduated from Muscle Shoals High School and UNA with a degree in Commercial Art. She was employed by Hospice Advantage as a director.

Wanda had many abilities including that of an artist, a vocalist for a musical band, and a bass player for a band. She also had a special talent for being a supervisor on a job. Her personality was such that she was well liked and loved dearly by her friends. She will be missed by many.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 12:00 noon – 2:30 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Fitzgerald and Jeff McAlister officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Survivors include her parents, Jacob and Jo Ann Landers; son, Robert H. Pinkston IV; sister, Phyllis Ann Landers and Karen Stocksett (Jerry); brother, Richard Alan Landers (Candy); 5 nieces, Rachel, Chloe and Nicole Stocksett and Savannah and Megan Landers.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Stocksett, Will McAlister, John McAlister, Tony Robertson, Vance Henry and Matt Lovell.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and doctors at ECM of Florence, Alabama and Kindred Hospital in Nashville, TN for their help and assistance.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research foundation or the ARDS foundation.
