Mr. Walker Vick CorbittWalker Vick Corbitt, (69) of Scottsboro, Alabama passed peacefully on March 28, 2025, while surrounded by his loving family.
He is predeceased by his mother, Ola Curtis Corbitt; his brothers J. B., Rayford, Bill and Jim Corbitt; his sister Martha Hall; his brother-in-law Roy Hall; his beloved mother-in-law Zoellen Hill and his brother-in-law Benny Campbell.
Walker is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Carol, his son Michael, his daughter Melanie Bozarth (Russell) and his grandson Tyler Owens (Erica). He is also survived by his brother Lawrence Corbitt (Sandra) and his sisters Lily Parker, Lois Esslinger, Lynda Houston (Peter) and Brenda Wood; his brothers-in-law Scottie Hill (Pam), Gary Hill, Ricky Hill (Connie), and his sisters-in-law Myra Hall, Deborah Maynard (Oscar), and Abby Tyler (Ronnie). Walker was the proud uncle to a host of nieces and nephews all of whom he loved dearly.
The family extends our special appreciation to Walker’s best friend Ralph Warren (Amber) who loved Walker like a brother and was his constant companion and his avid hunting partner.
When Walker met Carol, he was only 14 years old. To say she was “the love of his life” does not begin to describe the love between these two. A more apt description is that Carol was the only woman that ever existed in Walker’s universe. Carol loved, supported, and spoiled Walker constantly and she made sure he had everything he really wanted. Carol was always happiest when she was with Walker as they hunted and fished together. For fifty-three wonderful and blessed years, Walker and Carol truly had fun together while they worked and raised their family.
Walker worked at Fieldcrest-Cannon and HTPG in Scottsboro where he made life-long friends that added warmth and laughter throughout his life.
Walker believed in living every day God granted him to the fullest, never wasting a glorious, sunny day. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding aimlessly on his motorcycle to no particular destination, just going where his mood took him.
Funeral arrangements are being provided by the Scottsboro Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, with the family viewing from 11:00am to 12:00pm.
