Virginia V. Tvedt – Obituary

VirginiaVirginia V. Tvedt, 91, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Dec. 22, 2013.

Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 26, from 11-1 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. in the chapel, with burial to follow at KP Cemetery, Russellville, Ala. Brother James Taylor is officiating.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Viola Bagwell Martin; brother, Chesley Martin; two sisters, Brenda Heyer and Joyce Hill; and grandson, Tommy Long.

Survivors include son, James F. Long (Fern), of Scotts Hill, Tenn.;

daughter, Cathy Long Goodwin (Bill), of Tuscumbia;

grandchildren, Jamie Long, Mark Goodwin (Jennifer), Allison Goodwin and Jennifer Goodwin; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Tvedt was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. She always made people smile with her outgoing zest for life. She was well known for her fried chicken and homemade fried pies.

The family would to thank Dr. Lyman Mitchell and the staff at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital and the staff at J.W. Sommer Rehab for their kindness and care to our mother and grandmother.
