Virginia Sullivan Conway passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the age of 97. She was born November 20, 1927, in New York City, and was raised in Astoria, NY. She was a graduate of the Mary Louis Academy and received her degree as a Registered Nurse in 1949 from Mary Immaculate Hospital in Jamaica, NY. She worked as a NYC Public Health Nurse, was the Emergency Room supervisor at Long Island Jewish Hospital, and later the Nurse Manager for The Readers Digest in Pleasantville NY.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Anne Lovell and husband, Neal, of Alabama; and her son, Daniel Conway of Virginia. She was “Mema” to seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, December 13th from 2 to 3 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Madison, AL followed by a Funeral Mass at 3 p.m. Burial will in Quantico National Cemetery beside her beloved husband, John.
