Virginia May King Summers, 87, rested peacefully in God’s hands on November 2, 2025 at the Heart to Heart Hospice in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in Lynn, Alabama to Thomas King and Jessie Goza King. She worked hard all her life, from picking cotton as a youngster, to waitressing and finished her working days as a bank teller. Late in life she discovered a hidden talent for painting landscapes and seascapes. She was a wonderful cook as well.
Ginny met Dale Summers at the Florida Silver Springs tourist attraction where they both worked. Ginny waitressed in the restaurant and Dale worked in the Photo Shop. They married on August 20, 1963 and raised two daughters, Cynthia “Cyndi” Glyn and Kelly Dianne.
Let’s celebrate Ginny’s life at her memorial service, Saturday, November 8, at Believer’s Baptist Church, 26220 Highway 25 North, Golden, MS with Bro. Thomas King officiating. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m. She will be buried in the Lindsey Cemetery in Dennis, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Summers; daughter, Kelly; three sisters, Barbara Hicks, Glenda Ozbirn and Perry Ross; two brothers, Thomas King and Joe King; five grandchildren, Dianne, Amanda, Virginia, Nicole and James; six great-grandchildren (and another due any day) and a host of nieces and nephews.
