Virginia Lorine Baskins – Obituary

Virginia Lorine Baskins, 84 of Florence passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017. Visitation will be Monday, October 16th from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral service will be Tuesday, October 17th at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Rhodesville Cemetery.

Virginia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

Virginia was a native of Florence and was a member of Hendrix Chapel Church of Christ. She retired as a janitor from Central High School and was preceded in death by her husband, David Doyle Baskins; parents, Homer and Jessie Clemmons; brother, Bill; sisters, Reba, Elizabeth, Georgie, Vernie, and Louise.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Gerald John Fleming (Marie), Johnny Ray Fleming, Carl Eugene Hart (Linda), Willie Turner Risner, and Jimmy MacArthur Winborn (Margie); daughters, Bobbie Joyce LaBryer and Connie Lorine Winborn; brothers, Alfred Leon Clemmons, Carl Edward Clemmons, and Jessie Wayne Clemmons; sisters, Gracie Taylor and Linda Gail Faries; 18 grandchildren; 28 great and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Faries, Roger Reeves, Harold Cromwell, Jeff Joiner, Doc Jones, and Steven Hart. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Corey Hart and Cody Hart.

The family expresses special thanks to Kindred and Emerald Coast Hospices and especially, Margie Pettus.
