The daughter of the late Loney Fayton Garrison and Sarah Ethelyn Buckland Garrison, she was born September 9, 1914, in Heber Springs, AR. Preceding her in death was her husband of 55 years, Alvin Kelly Walden, Sr.; sisters, Betty Jean Munson and Suzanne Lee, and brother, L. F. Garrison.

Virginia lived most of her life in Arkansas until she retired from her job as bookkeeper and secretary at Citizens Funeral Home of West Helena, AR, and moved in 1977 with her husband to Killen, AL. An active member of Killen United Methodist Church, she was a member of the Willing Workers Class, the Seekers Circle, Primetimers Group, and her ladies’ Bunco Group.

Virginia Lee was the beloved mother of her only child, Pete; a fun and loving Mamaw to her three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a devoted sister to two brothers and two sisters; the very special “Aunt Ginny” to dozens of nieces and nephews and their children; and a thoughtful and caring friend to so many.

Virginia is survived by her son Alvin Kelly (Pete) Walden, Jr. (Connie) of Killen; three Grandchildren, Beth Walden Britton (Rob) of Atlanta, Deborah Walden (Toby Ball) of Durham, N.H., and Kelly Walden of Killen; six Great-grandchildren, Robert and Sam Britton, Jake and Sadie Ball, and Chandler and Bailey Walden; and her brother Douglas Garrison of Lexington, SC.

The family wishes to thank Southern Care Hospice employees, Barbara Austin, and all her special friends for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Killen United Methodist
