Alfred Wallace Baker – Obituary

Funeral services for Alfred Wallace Baker, 84, of Vinemont, will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Cullman City Cemetery, the Rev. Steve Rodgers officiating.

Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Baker passed away Saturday, September 14th at his residence. He was born February 19, 1929 to parents Theodore Andrie and Pearl Elizabeth Link Baker. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a very kind and generous family man and always did what he could to help his family. He was an Ohio State Alumni and received his masters from the University of Georgia. He was retired from the state of Georgia, Dept. of Human Resources.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tom Baker and David Baker; and a son, Doug Baker.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 64 years, Mary Ann Baker; a daughter, Laura (Mark) Goodwin; two brothers, Jim Baker and Carl Baker; three sisters, Marilyn Kinsella, Sharon Tillis, and Rita Hamilton; six grandchildren, Megan Link, Madison (Caitlan) Goodwin, Morgan Goodwin, Mikayla Goodwin, Danielle Baker, and Ryan Baker; two great-grandchildren, Ashlynn and Camden Link; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be Monday night from 6-8 at the funeral home.
