Virginia June Moore Jones, age 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in Huntsville, Alabama. Born on August 25, 1933, in Madison County, Alabama, she was the daughter of William Herbert Moore and Beatrice Rousseau.
June was a lifelong resident of Huntsville, where she was known for her warmth and dedication. She worked for GENESCO and Redstone Arsenal, but her most notable role was a 20-year tenure at Hallmark Cards, where she formed lasting relationships with many colleagues and customers.
Throughout her life, June was a devoted family member and friend and was a devoted disciple of the Lord. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and steadfast love. She touched the lives of all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
June is survived by her sons, Billy Henry Jones, Jr. and Herbert Wayne Jones; five grandchildren, Tracy (James) Southard, Anthony Jones, Chad Jones, JonJon Jones, and Deanna Jones Thompson; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters Joyce (J.N.) Wilbourn, Joan (Jerry) Ogle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Henry Jones, Sr., and her son, Johnny Ray Jones.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Valhalla Funeral Home, Huntsville, Alabama. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to her church, County Lake Full Gospel Church, 2944 County Lake Road, Gurley, Alabama, or to a church or charity of your choice.
