Virginia Christine Webster, of Florence, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014. She was born in Marion County, Ala. on Dec. 17, 1933, to Morgan Dewey White and Nellie Jane White, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 19, 1962, she married Hulon Lex Webster at the Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Birmingham. She found no greater pleasure than spending time with her sisters and walking in the woods. She was raised in the Philadelphia United Methodist Church in Marion County where she maintained a membership for most of her life.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Donald Keith Webster, of Tuscaloosa, and a daughter, Rachel Webster Hillis and her husband, James Michael Hillis Jr., of Florence.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Robbie Nell Webster and Inez Brown, and a brother, Gene White.

Funeral services for Mrs. Webster will be at Miles Funeral Home Chapel in Winfield Friday, April 4, 2014, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon with Shane Harris and the Rev. Dr. Callie Plunket-Brewton officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Union Cemetery in Wayside, Fayette County, Ala.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at noon prior to the service.

During her final days, Mrs. Webster received kind and compassionate care from ElderCare Services and Hospice of the Shoals for which the family is most grateful.
