Virgie Roy Sanderson age 91 of Athens, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mrs. Sanderson was born January 16, 1923 in DeKalb County, TN to Albert Roy Vickers and Eva Jane Bullard Vickers.
Services will be Monday, October 20, 2014 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Carl Witty and Eddie Littrell officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Sanderson was a member of Sardis Springs Church of Christ. She was retired from Athens Lingerie and The Grasshopper.
Preceded in death by her husband, Hagen Sanderson; parents, Albert and Eva Vickers; great-grandchild, Blakely Perrien; four brothers and four sisters.
Survived by one son, Roy Sanderson, and wife, Janey of Guntersville, AL; two daughters, Betty Beckham and husband, Roger and Judy Nave and husband, Joe both of Athens; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Smith, Kevin Leaton, Tim Smith, Bryan Thornton, Chris Nave and Mark Perrien.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County or Athens Limestone Home Health.
