Funeral service for Vida Mae McGee Ray, 90, will be Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Ray Halbrooks and Chaplain Rich Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Mt Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ray died on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at her residence. She was born September 1, 1924, in Morgan County to William Milby McGee and Martha Colula Henderson. Mrs. Ray, better known to her family as Maw-Maw, was a loving individual who supplied love and joy to all her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Jesse Lee Ray and a son-in-law: Ronald K. Howard. She retired from the Lurleen Wallace Center in 1989, after 18 years of service to the state. The family would like to recognize her two care-givers, Danielle Smith and Amanda Millette, Along with Vicki Turrentine and Sherri Fuqua and the entire staff of Hospice of the Valley.
In lieu of flowers: the family asked that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, to The Humane Society or to Meals on Wheels.
