The family of Dr. Victoria Wood Hulsey, age 62, of Florence, will receive friends on Sunday, February 15, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Scott Barber officiating.
Dr. Hulsey, who died Friday, February 13, 2015, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, was born June 14, 1952, in Searcy, AR, to Robbie D. Wood, Sr. and Bonnie Hardcastle Wood Capps. Dr. Hulsey was the Distinguished Chair of the Early Education Department at the University of North Alabama. Her career also included teaching positions in West Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, and the Decatur City School System.
She is survived by one beautiful daughter, Autumn Schlagenhauf (Matt) of Decatur; two sons, Paul Ebert (Samantha) of Mountain Brook, Nick Hulsey (Jessica) of California; her father, Robbie D. Wood, Sr. (Betty) of Morris; her mother, Bonnie Capps (Hartsell) of Searcy, AR; two brothers, Stan Wood (Suzanne) of Cullman, and Robbie D. Wood, Jr. (Vicki) of Pleasant Grove; one beautiful sister, Jana Wood White of Hoover; eight grandchildren, Abbey, Warren, Xander, Samuel, Elijah, Joseph, Noah, and Jackson; a host of nephews and nieces; and her caregiver, Brooke Allard.
