Vernon Wayne Elmore 82, of Maben, MS, passed away March 2, 2025, at his residence in Maben, MS. He was retired from Cline Tours as a tour bus driver and also from Babcock & Wilcox of West Point. He served multiple terms as a Justice of the Peace in Clay County, MS. Wayne was a long-time member and past Sunday School teacher at Maben Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson “Jack” Elmore and Odie White Elmore. Wayne is survived by his wife Linda Cole Elmore of 61 years, and children Vernon Neil Elmore and Sharon LaNell Elmore.
A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, Maben, MS, on Tuesday March 4, 2025, from 10:00 am -11:00 am with the service following at 11:00 am.
The family acknowledges the kind and loving care of Claire Byars, as well as nieces and nephews.
