Vernice Jeanette Springer, 87, of Rogersville, went to her heavenly home on Friday, January 31, 2025. Jeanette was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Lexington High School. She worked as a local seamstress for many years before retiring. Jeanette loved and deeply appreciated everyone who came to help her with anything she may have needed.

Visitation for Jeanette will be Monday, February 3rd at Rogersville Funeral Home from 12-2 p.m. with a funeral service following in the chapel. Her nephew Phil Springer will be officiating. Burial will be in Harvey Cemetery. The pallbearers will be her nephews, Roger Thornton, Terry Thornton, Max Thornton, Bobby Davis, Jerome Thigpen and Dennis Springer.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alvoyd Springer; parents, Freeman and Kate Davis; brother, Harold Davis; son-in-law, Mark Shelton and grandson, Lucas James Boykin. She is survived by her daughters, Shelia K. Shelton, Ginger (Jimbo) Boykin; granddaughter, Tiffany (Corey) Hines; brother, Bobby (Ruth) Davis; sisters, Carolyn Tidwell, Martha Thornton, Sherry Smith, and Brenda Thigpen; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special ‘thank you’ to Compassus Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion that was shown to Mrs. Springer.
