Vernette Nelda Norris, age 92 of Haleyville, Alabama passed away April 3, 2025. She was born in Haleyville, Alabama and attended Pebble School. She was loving known in the community as the “Mayor of Pebble” and she was a member of Maxwell Chapel Church.
Visitation will be Monday, April 7, 2025 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville, Alabama. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Mickey Holdbrooks and Wannell Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Littleville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Shane Cook, Ricky Wooten, Clint Crawford, Grant Crawford, Marcus Jones and Tony Huckaba.
Ms. Norris is survived by her children, Tony Norris and Paula Norris Crawford; grandchildren, Hannah Carter (Justin), Clint Crawford and Grant Crawford: sister, Miriam Cook; great grandchiildren, Marcus Jones, Claire Carter and Griffin Carter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Norris; son, Ricky Allen Norris; parents, Paul Jones and Ruby Emily Holdbrooks; and sister, Betty Jo Holdbrooks.
