Graveside Funeral service for Verdie Alvis Yates, 84, will be Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Roundtop Cemetery with Rev. Robin Lambert officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Yates died on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Trinity Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL . She was born January 19, 1932, in Morgan County to Hollis Lee Alvis and Esther Dora Wilhite. She worked in the King Edward Cigar Company and Prestolite, working in their production departments, prior to her retirement. She was a Master Gardener and a member of the Wildflower Society. She loved to travel with the Cullman Senior Spirit Group. She enjoyed digital photography. She was preceded in death by her husband: Therman Lois Yates and her parents.
