Velma Helms Fowler – Obituary

Velma Fowler Mrs. Velma Helms Fowler passed away Saturday evening at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born in Henderson County daughter of the late WT and Flora Moody Helms. She attended School in the Roby Community of Chester County and was married to Claude Fowler on May 14, 1940. They had made their home in Chester County. Mr. Fowler preceded her in death. She was of the Pentecostal Faith. Her hobbies and enjoyment in life was her family, quilting, flower gardening, and scrapbooking.

She is survived by five daughters; Virginia Boggs (Paul) of Friendsville Tn, Carolyn Watson (Arthur) Harvest Al , Doris Jones (Billy Joe) Bells Tn, Janice Moody (Collis) Reagan Tn, Betty Swafford (Jerry) Reagan Tn. Seven sons; Charles Fowler (Martha) Brownsville Tn, Jimmy Fowler (Eddy Dale) Luray Tn, Joseph Fowler (Patricia) Orange Park Fl, Ricky Fowler Reagan Tn, Donald Fowler (Patricia) Henderson Tn, Bruce Fowler ( Donna) Medon Tn, Danny Fowler (Maureen) Henderson Tn; four sisters Faye Helms, Lona Helms both of Reagan, Beatrice Stone Jacks Creek Tn, Lucille Millner Sardis Tn; one brother Tom Helms of Reagan Tn; twenty five grandchildren thirty one great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Vernice Fowler.
