UNA’s English Department to Have Shakespeare Lecture

FLORENCE – The fifth Albert S. Johnston Jr. Memorial Shakespeare Lecture event will be

Oct. 22, at 3:30 p.m. in room 330 of the Wendell Wilkie Gunn Commons Building on the University of North Alabama campus. Dr. Molly Hand, a scholar and editor with backgrounds in academic and technical writing, editing, and research, will provide the program.

 

“The generosity of the Johnston Endowment has allowed us to bring world-class speakers with diverse interests in Shakespeare to the UNA campus, and Molly Hand is no exception,” said Dr. Cynthia Burkhead, Professor and Chair of the Department of English. “Not only will Dr. Hand be speaking on literary aspects of Shakespeare, from her experience as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Florida State University, she will also share the varied professional opportunities outside academia available to English and other humanities majors.”

 

The event is free and open to the public.
